The DU Marine Mapping Group Members at the 15th Coast to Coast National Conference

The Deakin Marine Mapping Group members presented at the 15th Coast to Coast National Conference – the Australian Coastal Society’s biennial national coastal management conference.

The 2021 Coast to Coast Conference was held at the Pullman Cairns International, 26 – 29 July.

This is the 15th Coast to Coast National Conference – the Australian Coastal Society’s biennial national coastal management conference.


Nicolas Pucino, a Ph.D. candidate in the DU Marine Mapping Group, presented the results of the first year of Citizen Science UAV monitoring, now running for 3 years, focusing on how we combined advanced geostatistical analysis and various machine learning approaches to effectively monitor sediment-only dynamics in 10 sandy beaches across Victoria.


There are also other presenters focusing on the VCMP Project in this Coastal Conference! Dr. Jak McCarroll (DWELP) who presented The Victorian Coastal Monitoring Program multi-method historical shoreline analysis of Port Phillip Bay and Dr. Tessa Mazor & Rhiannon Holden who presented CoastKit – Victoria’s first marine and coastal knowledge management system.
